When Charles Ticker arrived at law school he knew he was in the right place. His enthusiasm for the law continues today and colours his relationships with his clients and his continued efforts to be always on top of the latest changes to the law. Charles developed his excellent courtroom skills early and now has appeared successfully at all levels of Ontario trial courts including the Court of Appeal.
Understanding the need for new skills, Charles recently completed his training at Harvard as a certified mediator. With compulsory mediation now a part of the estate litigation process, Charles's new skills serve him and his clients well.
Charles is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and the Canadian Bar Association. He continually pursues new knowledge though workshops and seminars. He is frequently invited to speak to groups about estate planning and has published an estate law newsletter.
Charles co-chaired the Advising the Elderly Client Conference in January 2011 which was organized by the Professional Development department at Osgoode Hall Law School. This practical and intensive program was aimed at providing lawyers and other professionals an in-depth and up-to date understanding of recent changes to the law that impact the elderly.
Charles spends his free time volunteering for charities and playing keyboards with his garage band "The Faded Genes"
